Heat Warning Issued for Abbotsford

Bulletins

ABBOTSFORD – July 25, 2022 – Environment Canada has issued a Heat Warning for the Fraser Valley for today through Friday or Saturday and Abbotsford residents are advised to prepare ways to stay cool during the heat.

A Heat Warning means daytime and overnight temperatures are higher than usual, and are expected to remain high for two or more consecutive days, but they are not getting hotter each day. In Abbotsford, temperatures are forecasted to reach 31-35 degrees Celsius. It is important residents stay cool, plan ahead and stay out of the sun as much as possible, particularly during the peak heat hours late afternoon and early evening.

Residents are encouraged to stay hydrated, check regularly on family members and neighbors, particularly seniors and those who are housebound, for signs of heat-related illness, seek out an air-conditioned facility to get a break from the heat and never leave children or pets inside parked vehicles.
