Highway Excavation Permits are required for work on City roads to improve or repair City maintained infrastructure and franchise utilities. If the work includes repairing, extending or installing a new driveway culvert a Driveway Culvert drawing must be completed and submitted.
- All Highway Excavation Permits must have a traffic management plans that meets the City of Abbotsford Traffic Management Plan Guidelines and the permit will not be process until these requirements are met.
- Abbotsford’s Street and Traffic Bylaw No. 3066-2021 regulates the excavation of City roads, sidewalks and boulevards.
- Please note, a typical completed Highway Excavation Permit may take up to 15 business days to process.
