Problems With Your Water Quality or Pressure

Do you have issues with your water quality or pressure at your property? We may be able to help you locate the source of the issue.

If the issue is on City owned property, this is work that the City’s Operations staff maintains.

This guide will help you establish what to do in the event of an issue. This could be something you are able to repair on your own, you may require the assistance of a certified plumber or you may need the City’s assistance.

*The City is responsible for providing water up to the property line. Prior to contacting us, please ensure you have checked your property for potential sources.

Cloudy or brown (turbid) water from yours or your neighbour's taps that does not clear up, even after running the cold water for up to 30 minutes.  
Water that is discoloured, has a poor taste, or smell.  
No water flowing from all taps in your home or in your neighbour’s homes.  
A sudden drop in water pressure, in your entire home, and several neighbours are affected.  
Low water pressure or no water flowing from any taps in your home and none of your neighbour’s are affected.
Sudden, high, water pressure.  
Excessively hot water or no hot water at all.  
Low water pressure in only one faucet, tap, or fixture.  
Water does not work in one area of your home or water pipes may be frozen.

The City of Abbotsford only repairs water service leaks on city property. All leaks on private property are the responsibility of the property owner.
