This project was completed in September 2021 but the recent flooding resulted in sediment deposits. This is currently under evaluation for next steps.
The City of Abbotsford is working to provide more fish habitat in the Clayburn Creek watershed that includes restoration of side-channel habitat and adding new channel enhancements at two locations. The goal is to create side-channel areas, which will provide rearing habitat, and some limited spawning habitat.
The fish habitat improvement work will be completed by Skylark Development Corp. and overseen by the City’s design / environmental consultant and by First Nations archaeological monitors. The work has Provincial approvals in place and the contractor will begin work in early August and be complete by mid-September 2021, weather permitting.
Any updates to this information will be posted on this webpage. We thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this project. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at 604-864-5692 or tseibert@abbotsford.ca.
