We are very proud to be once again hosting the Pacific Agriculture Show right here in Abbotsford, the agriculture capital of BC.

Last year more than 9,500 attendees and 300 exhibitors filled the Tradex halls, and we’re confident that we’ll have another successful sell-out event when the Pacific Agriculture Show returns from now through Saturday, Jan. 25.

Mayor Siemens and former mayor Henry Braun were among those in attendance on Thursday to meet with industry members and gain first-hand knowledge about the issues and trends in agriculture in BC. These insights will help us better understand industry needs and what we can do as a Council to ensure that our agriculture sector is set up for success.

As agriculture is such an integral part of our local economy, we are committed to supporting and advocating on behalf of our agriculture and agri-tech industries. Hosting the Pacific Agriculture Show is not only an informative learning experience for us, it also gives us the opportunity to highlight the members of BC’s ag sector who work tirelessly to feed our province and give them a place to network and discover new ways to grow and improve their business.

A lot has changed since the Pacific Agriculture Show first started 27 years ago, and a big part of the convention focuses on the innovations happening in agriculture, the latest technologies, and what the future may hold. As a Council we recognize the value of innovation in our local economy, and especially in agriculture. By getting a peek over the horizon, we’ll be able to make sure that Abbotsford is a forward-thinking leader in agriculture that can continue to attract the talent and investment needed to keep our farming sector thriving.

And if you are going to be attending the event, be sure to stop by the City of Abbotsford’s booth, No. 132, where our Economic Development team will be joined by our partners at the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Abbotsford to share resources and opportunities with agriculture businesses.

We hope to see you at the Pacific Agriculture Show!
