Parks & Playgrounds

The City of Abbotsford operates and maintains 71 playgrounds across 69 parks in our community. The City Parks operations department regularly check and inspect all playgrounds to ensure they comply with CSA standards. Any repairs and upgrades identified during inspections are prioritized and 
completed in a timely manner.

Our capital plan outlines the replacement and upgrade of entire playgrounds, playground components, and significant repairs. This plan also addresses adding additional playground surfacing to ensure 
compliance in safety fall zones.

In 2025, we will replace the playgrounds at Woodstock Park and Williams Park. Additionally, we are 
excited to introduce new playgrounds into our inventory when construction is completed at Gilmour Park, Engineer Park and Ridgeview Park.

Public Spray and Splash Pads are located at: 

• Crossley Park - 2630 McAdam Road
  • Splash pad adjacent to playground and sports fields
  • Operational from the May long weekend (or earlier, weather dependent) until the September long weekend, 9:00 am - 8:00 pm
• Mill Lake Park - 2310 Emerson Street
  • Adjacent to Centennial Outdoor Pool and includes a playground and picnic shelter with water & power
  • The spray park is operational from the May long weekend (or earlier, weather dependent) until the September long weekend, 9:00 am - 8:00 pm
• Shadbolt Park - 36086 Shadbolt Avenue
  • Splash pad adjacent to green space
  • Operational from the May long weekend (or earlier, weather dependent) until September long weekend, 9:00 am - 8:00 pm
• Spud Murphy Park - 32285 Hillcrest Avenue 
  • Splash pad adjacent to playground
  • Operational from the May long weekend (or earlier, weather dependent) until the September long weekend, 9:00 am - 8:00 pm
• Centennial Outdoor Pool - 2310 Emerson Street

The International Friendship Garden is located at 32320 George Ferguson Way (North side of Clearbrook Library)

The facility includes:

• a Cultural Gateway and International Friendship Garden, hard surfaced plaza and patio areas and a water fall;
• the Cultural Gateway which is represented by the canopy and the Pathway of Nations “Welcome” pavers;
• a unique space to celebrate the many diverse cultures in our community;
• a destination location to enjoy a tranquil area and the outdoors in a beautiful setting; 
• opportunity to contribute towards plantings, purchase of a memorial bench or cultural amenities.

During inclement weather, our parks and parking lots may be closed.  Alerts will be posted to our website and social media in the event of major park closures.
