Amrik Narang was elected to Abbotsford City Council in 2026.

He has called Abbotsford home since moving here from Vancouver Island with his family at the age of four. Raised in a farming family with roots in Punjab, India, Amrik grew up working in the fields of the family farm, which was established in Abbotsford in 1978. Those early years instilled in him an importance of agriculture, hard work and family.

He studied at Simon Fraser University and earned his law degree from the University of Ottawa. For more than 25 years, he has practised law; serving individuals, families, and businesses. Since 2022, he has also taught business law at the University of the Fraser Valley, sharing his professional experience with students preparing for their own careers.

Amrik has a long record of community service. He has previously served as a Director and Vice President of the Fraser Valley Indo-Canadian Business Association, a board member with Archway Community Services, and President of the Abbotsford & District Bar Association. He has also served on committees of the Law Society of British Columbia and has chaired the Governance and Policy Committee of the Abbotsford Police Board.
