For the next two weeks arts and culture are in the spotlight in Abbotsford and across Canada.
The 2026 edition of Culture Days launched on Sept. 18 and the cultural celebration is taking place in communities nationwide until Oct. 4. Abbotsford has been participating in Culture Days since 2013 and this year there are 33 free interactive family friendly events happening across our community.
In 2025 Abbotsford had the honour of serving as host city for the provincial BC Culture Days kick-off event in recognition of our successful cultural programming and community engagement efforts. The launch event was held at the Reach Gallery Museum and featured live music, cultural performances, tours and family activities.
This year’s events cover a variety of artistic media including music, dancing, painting, drawing, knitting, storytelling and arts and crafts, just to name a few. For a full list of Culture Day events, visit www.abbotsford.ca/culture-days.
A significant part of Abbotsford’s culture is its food, so after you’ve worked up an appetite creating or enjoying works of art, be sure to enjoy some delicious, local farm-to-table fare as part of another annual celebration.
The Taste of Abby Fall Festival kicked off on Friday with the Night Market at Jubilee Park, and Mayor Siemens and Councillors Chahal, Ross and Gibson were there to take in the festivities. Taste of Abby continues through Sept. 27, with events happening at farms and breweries all over Abbotsford. Abbotsford is not only the economic hub of the Fraser Valley, it’s also our region’s cultural centre.
