Involve Abbotsford Mission Statement
To educate, inspire, and support the organizational development of non-profits, and those who work tirelessly to provide meaningful involvement opportunities in our community.
What is the Involve Abbotsford Symposium?
Involve Abbotsford Symposium is a free one-day event that supports and fosters the robust and innovative arts, non-profit sector, and local sports organizations by providing relevant information and training to help build on the foundation of service that benefits the quality of life for all residents of Abbotsford. Prepare to be informed, inspired and invigorated.
In light of physical distancing measures, Involve Abbotsford Symposium 2020 will be held virtually on Thursday, November 19.
This year we will be offering workshops on “Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace” and “Self Care in the Time of a Global Pandemic”.
Join Archway Diversity Education for the two-part workshop "Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace.”
Part 1 at 10:00 am and Part 2 at 1:00 pm
1 hour workshop followed by 30 minutes of discussion and questions.
Part 1 will focus on increasing your understanding on the topics of equity, diversity, and inclusion; and how these relate to racism and discrimination in the workplace. The workshop is designed to be interactive, and a safe space for dialogue and questions.
(Participants must attend Part 1 in order to participate in Part 2 as it will build upon what is learned in Part 1.) Part 2 will focus on ways to respond to incidents of racism and discrimination in the workplace; and introduce strategies to create an anti-racist workplace. The workshop is designed to be interactive, and a safe space for dialogue and questions.

The COVID-19 pandemic hit a lot of us really hard. Adjusting to the constant changes that are occurring in our work and in our personal lives is challenging. Our emotional and mental buckets are emptying and it can be hard to figure out how to refill them. When it comes to self-care, you likely fall into one of two camps, 1) you had a self-care routine before COVID that worked great but now you are struggling to stick with it or 2) you didn’t have a self-care routine before COVID and you recognize that you need to create one. In this session you will learn strategies to create a self-care routine that fits your life now and that you can adapt as things change (as we know they do). Once you have gone through this workshop you’ll have resources and information you can also share with colleagues and staff who might be struggling with self-care.
