A Highway Use Permit is required if events or activities will disrupt regular vehicle or pedestrian traffic on City roads and sidewalks. Highway Use Permits are issued to regulate traffic management plans and monitor alternate route patterns associated with these permits and ensure the traveling public is safe on City roads and sidewalks.
- All Highway Use Permits must have a traffic management plans that meets the City of Abbotsford Traffic Management Plan Guidelines and the permit will not be process until these requirements are met.
- Abbotsford’s Street and Traffic Bylaw No. 3066-2021 regulates use of City streets and sidewalks.
- Please note, a typical completed Highway Use Permit may take up to 15 business days to process.
