Arts & Culture Creator

(Grant amounts available for request: $500 - $2,500)
Creators are the individual artists, artist teams, curators, producers, and cultural practitioners who add vibrancy to the community. Creators work in media including, but not limited to: drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, fashion, craft, installation, performance, sound, music, new media, dance, theatre, literary arts, and cultural traditions. Projects that feature collaboration with organizations or with multiple artists are strongly encouraged.

Applicant Prequalification:
If you answer no to any of these questions, please contact us at culture@abbotsford.ca to discuss your project before applying:

  • Is your practice/art/craft based in Abbotsford and/or will the project occur in Abbotsford?
  • Have you been practicing for over 1 year?
  • Do you intend to do any public community outreach and/or collaboration with other Abbotsford based artists or organizations or businesses as part of your proposed project?
  • Do you have a letter of support from an arts, culture, or heritage professional to support your application (e.g.: teacher, professional organizational representative, etc.)?
     

Prepare Your Application Documents
Download and review the Creator Application Guide to plan your webform responses. You will also be asked to upload the following documents in your webform submission:

  1. CV or Resume: Provide your professional experience and development as a Creator, including any related volunteer and work experience. (.pdf)
  2. Letter of Support: One letter from a qualified individual from the arts, culture, and heritage community (e.g.: teacher, cultural organization, cultural administrator). (.pdf)
  3. Examples of Work: Maximum of five samples of past work that best illustrate your qualifications and experience (images, documents, or web links)
