Fostering strong community and social connections enables individuals and families to enhance their quality of life. Community Integration supports community participation through employment, education, civic engagement, recreation, wellness and social connections.
The Community of Integrated Practice is an open learning environment that fosters multi-sectoral education, awareness and capacity building opportunities to increase knowledge and align activities to develop specific community infrastructure to support housing, social service, and community integration capacity. The following programs and topics will be explored in this forum:
Education, awareness and skills training, networking and dialogue circles
Ongoing capacity building through events and initiatives
The AHPRS Community of Integrated Practice has launched the first set of videos as part of the Abbotsford Stories project, which focuses on increasing community awareness about issues of vulnerability and homelessness in Abbotsford, as well as, information related to current solutions and approaches to address these issues. The Stories project is an evolving project, which will provide opportunity for individuals with diverse experiences to speak to these issues.
