Parkview-Tims Bikeway Project
The City of Abbotsford is committed to building walking and cycling infrastructure for people of all ages and abilities. Through the 2018 Transportation and Transit Master Plan, the City identified the corridor along Parkview Street and Tims Street as a high priority route.
The study corridor runs north-south along Parkview Street and Tims Street connecting Dormick Park Elementary in the south, to the Matsqui Recreation Centre at the north end with an additional east-west connection to the Civic Precinct. The Parkview-Tims Bikeway will improve cycling connections between Dormick Park Elementary, Matsqui Recreation Centre, WJ Mouat Secondary School, Colleen and Gordie Howe Middle School, Clearbrook Library, Thunderbird Square, City Hall, Abbotsford Police Department, Provincial Courthouse, the Reach Gallery, and other nearby destinations.
Study Process and Input Opportunities
This study will gather input from residents and stakeholders to identify the values and issues that are important in the consideration of active transportation within the study area. The input received will directly influence the design process and the development of concepts.
Engagement events will begin with an online survey, and then a stakeholder workshop, before hosting a public open house to share initial findings of the survey and preliminary designs.
We want to hear from you!
Attend our open house on April 4 from 2pm - 6pm at MRC.
