Clayburn Road Proposed Street Improvement Project
The City of Abbotsford has heard concerns from local residents in Clayburn Village about speeding, high traffic volume, walking connectivity and the safety of pedestrians at the crosswalks.
In 2017, the City collected traffic data between October 20 – 27. The data revealed that the average daily traffic volume was 5,400 vehicles per day and that cars were going at an 85th percentile speed of 49 km/hr in the 30 km/hr posted speed limit. Based on this data, the City is proposing street improvements to reduce travel speed and improve pedestrian safety.
A public information session will be held for local residents on April 16, 2018. Residents will be asked to provide feedback on the two proposed street improvement options. City staff will present the most popular option to the Transportation Advisory Committee and City Council by the summer of 2018.
