Liability Waiver and Agreement Clause
  •  will not demonstrate, display or exhort unlawful behavior while participating in the Canada Day Parade.
      
  • I understand that Abbotsford's Canada Day Parade is a family-centred event and I agree that it is not a suitable forum for display, demonstration or conduct that could frighten, disturb or offend others, that condones or promotes unlawful action or activities, or that is in itself unlawful. I acknowledge that official permission to participate may be revoked if the Canada Day Committee is of the view that my conduct or display is of such a nature, and I agree to abide by a decision by the Committee to revoke its permission on that basis.
      
  • Hold Harmless Agreement - The applicant organization agrees that the said participating organization's officers, employees, and members shall, through the accepting of this Agreement by an authorized person or agent of the participating organization, indemnify, hold harmless, and defend the City of Abbotsford (the "City") and the Abbotsford Canada Day Committee, as well as their agents, officers, officials, and employees from all claims, demands, proceedings, suits, and actions, including reasonable legal fees and all costs of litigation and judgement of every name and description against the City, including the Abbotsford Canada Day Committee, as a result of loss, damage or injury to person or property, and economic loss, by reason of any action or omission by the said participating organization, and the organization's officers, employees, and agents while participating in the Abbotsford Canada Day Parade and festivities.
     
  • I understand that it is required to have a 5lb 2A10BC Dry Chemical Fire Extinguisher on the float at all times. I understand that the Fire Department will be inspecting each float to ensure there is a fire extinguisher on-board. The Fire Department can issue fines for those who do not have the required extinguisher on board and can refuse entry of the float to the parade.
     
  • The City of Abbotsford reserves the right to deny parade applications deemed to be unsuitable, unsafe or inappropriate for Canada Day family oriented celebrations.
     
  • All vehicles must be licensed and fully insured. Insurance is the responsibility of the entrant. All drivers must hold a valid driver’s licence. Drivers must remain with their vehicles at all times. Vehicles subject to all sections of the
    Motor Vehicle Act, enforced by the Abbotsford Police Department.
I understand that in order for our parade entry to be eligible for the Canada Day Parade, it must be 75% decorated in the "Celebrating Community" theme. If the float does not meet this criteria, it may be refused entry on the day of the parade.
