Legalization of cannabis across Canada is expected in the summer of 2018. The City of Abbotsford has a role to play in regulating the retail sales and public use of cannabis in the community. Below is our Community Engagement timeline where you will find important dates for the process and details on how you can provide your feedback. City of Abbotsford Cannabis Legalization Process:
STAGE 1 - BACKGROUND RESEARCH
The City of Abbotsford would like to hear from residents through our online survey about the incoming legislation.

STAGE 2 - EXPLORE OPTIONS
The results of the survey will be shared with Council and the community with staff recommendations for bylaw updates.
Timeline - Fall 2018
STAGE 3 - DRAFT RECOMMENDATIONS
Draft recommendations will be provided in a report reflecting the public feedback from the survey.
Timeline: Fall 2018
STAGE 4 - FINALIZE RECOMMENDATIONS AND BYLAW UPDATES
Any required draft bylaws will be introduced to Council for consideration. The final regulations will be shared with the community.
Timeline: Winter 2018
