The City of Abbotsford’s Innovation Network promotes innovative opportunities across the organization by supporting service delivery areas in modernizing services and achieving great results.
So, who is part of this network? We ALL are! By collaborating together, all staff play a vital role in finding and implementing innovative ways to work smarter and more efficiently, which ultimately provides better customer service to our residents!
The Continuous Improvement team will support the program delivery and service areas in their own improvement activities by providing problem solving and innovation support, best practices and tools.
We are one part of how the City of Abbotsford can continue to build capacity for ongoing organizational improvement together.
Continuous Improvement initiatives are aimed at supporting organizational efficiency, effectiveness and accountable government. This includes facilitating service reviews, benchmarking, researching best practices from other municipalities and recommending improvements to City processes.
CityStudio is a City and UFV partnership that involves UFV students prototyping solutions to public sector challenges through experiential learning opportunities (and credit toward their post-secondary education). CityStudio Secondary is a pilot initiative with SD34 to provide the same opportunity for high school students.
The City’s Directors team in collaboration with Council considers how governance and policy decisions are made that will support an innovative community.
The City Initiatives for Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CITIE) Framework for innovative policy governance, will be used by Council when considering how governance and policy decisions are made that will support an innovative community.
Supporting Innovation & Engagement projects through facilitating the piloting/testing of programs, tools and technologies that enhance or support engagement, customer service improvement, or innovation within a program or service delivery area.
