Dr. Bruce Banman has a strong local family history and is a lifelong resident of the Fraser Valley. Bruce grew up in Chilliwack and moved to Abbotsford in 1982. He is the owner and operator of Banman Chiropractic in Abbotsford and is a strong supporter of local small business. Bruce completed his chiropractic training in Portland, Oregon graduating from Western States Chiropractic College in 1997.
Bruce made the decision to run for the office of Mayor because he felt strongly that Abbotsford was in need of progressive change. His passion for public involvement and consultation will provide a fresh approach to local government practices. Bruce understands the value of fostering a great team by providing strong vision and leadership for the City. He was elected by the residents of Abbotsford on November 19, 2011 and is honoured to have the opportunity to provide a new direction for the City through these challenging times. He is committed to serving the people of Abbotsford and to establishing open, transparent and relevant local governance. It is important to Bruce to support an inclusive community for everyone; elders, families, children, grandchildren and future generations.
Bruce, his wife Sharon, and his family are all proud to call Abbotsford home. His two children, son-in-law and three amazing grandchildren are his inspiration for ensuring Abbotsford remains a place where good jobs can live, business can prosper, talent can bloom, and families can thrive.
Bruce’s other great passion is singing. As an avid vocalist, Bruce enjoys the opportunity to exercise his singing abilities whenever possible. Bruce’s other passion is for vintage cars.
