Safe Harbour Program
As designated Safe Harbour locations, the City of Abbotsford recreation centres are taking a leadership role in the community by welcoming diversity and treating all members of the community with respect.
The Safe Harbour program is a province-wide initiative that provides a simple, practical, and effective way for organizations to better understand and serve a diverse population.
Each Safe Harbour location displays a colourful window decal and other signage that signifies that management and staff at that location have been trained in the program.

10 x 10 Challenge
The Minister's Council on Employment for Persons with Disabilities has inviting communities and organizations to join the 10 by 10 Challenge to increase employment for persons with disabilities in British Columbia by 10% by the year 2010.
The City of Abbotsford has taken on this challenge both as a community and as an employer.
