The Community Charter requires that vehicles used for business must display a municipal licence decal.
Any commercial vehicle is defined as such by, and licensed under, the Commercial Transport Act, or a vehicle not so licensed, but which is used for the collection or delivery, or both, of merchandise or other commodity in the ordinary course of a business undertaking. Both must display a valid municipal licence decal.
Decals can be purchased at the City of Abbotsford Collections Division upon presentation of your current motor vehicle registration form. The licence year is March 1 to February 28. Failure to display a valid decal can result in a fine of $50, increasing to $75 if not paid within seven days.
