Clearbrook Interchange

The Clearbrook Road Interchange Project has improved safety, accommodates higher traffic volumes, and provides better access to Abbotsford’s industrial and agricultural employment centres, public institutions, key community amenities and other local destinations.

The project included more lanes over Highway 1, improved off-ramps on both sides of the highway and changes to the traffic pattern to ensure that peak volume traffic does not back up onto the highway, as well as new  bike lanes and sidewalks.

Work also included the widening of Clearbrook Road south to King Road, and upgrades to Marshall Road from Clearbrook Road to Townline Road.

The total project cost was approximately $25 million, cost-shared by the City of Abbotsford, Government of British Columbia and the Government of Canada.  Work is expected to be fully complete by the end of October 2011.

MP Ed Fast, Mayor George Peary and MLA John van Dongen officially opened the new bridge on November 5, 2010.
