The following databases are available to help find additional recycling and disposal options in the City of Abbotsford.
Pet Waste Disposal
Dog and cat feces are banned from the curbside collection program and at the Matsqui Transfer Station. Kitty litter must have feces removed, be double bagged using two plastic bags, tied securely and then placed into the garbage container. No more than 5 L of kitty litter is allowed in any one container. Residents have the following disposal options for pet feces:
- Bury it in your backyard in a compost pit (see the following website: Petwaste)
- Flush down the toilet in small amounts (do not flush kitty litter or dirt. Kitty litter in particular is often made of an absorbent clay which can expand when wet and thereby block waste lines)
- Use a pet waste pickup service. See the City of Abbotsford List of Recycling and Disposal Options, for available service companies in Abbotsford.
