The Automated Waste Collection Pilot will end on March 28, 2012. Through the pilot, the City gained valuable information including: the cost of the program, worker health and safety, and residential support.
If you live in the Automated Waste Collection Pilot area, please return to using two regular garbage cans per week after March 28, 2012. Continue to place your recycling and yard waste out, as you do currently. Your automated waste collection container will be picked up by staff immediately after being emptied on March 28, 2012.
The City will continue to assess options for automated waste collection and would appreciate any feedback or suggestions you may have. Any comments or suggestions may be sent to automatedwaste@abbotsford.ca, or contact the engineering department at 604-864-5514.
