About Regional Utilities

Utilities provided by the municipality are water, sewer (both sanitary and storm) and curbside pick up of recycling, yard trimmings, and garbage. With the installation of the smart water meters the City of Abbotsford is now able to provide bi-monthly utility bills for water and sewer, rather than including it on the annual tax notice. This will allow residents to monitor their water consumption more easily and look for ways to conserve.  Beginning in September, residents will receive their first utility bill. Each bill will cover the two-month period immediately prior to the bill date – for example, the September bi-monthly bill will cover your water consumption for the months of July and August.

Paying Bi-monthly Utility Bills

In September, the City of Abbotsford began issuing bi-monthly bills for your water and sewer usage. Each bill covers the two-month period immediately prior to the bull date – for example, the November bi-monthly covers your water consumption for the months of September and October.

The City offers multiple payment options:

  • in person at most financial institutions
  • via your Internet or telephone banking service
