Demographics & Statistics

Demographic information plays an important role in our lives. It describes characteristics of a population and commonly includes information on age, gender, ethnicity, education, household composition, mobility, homeownership, and employment status. This information is used to make critical decisions about individual, neighbourhood, and community issues by all three levels of government (local, provincial, and federal).

ABBOTSFORD DEMOGRAPHIC PROFILES

In response to demographic inquiries and requests the City created a set of demographic profiles using 2006 Census data. Profiles have been developed for the City of Abbotsford (Abbotsford Summary) and its 12 urban communities. Profiles for the six rural communities will be developed by Fall 2012 and will include Census of Agriculture data.
