Audible Bird Scare Devices
Audible bird scare devices (such as propane cannons or shriekers), used to control birds on fruit or berry farms as a farming practice, are not regulated by the City. The Ministry of Agriculture has guidelines governing their use, found in the South Coastal BC Wildlife Damage Control Reference Guide.

Construction WorkersConstruction
Construction noise is permitted during the following hours:

  • Monday to Saturday - 7:00am to 9:00pm
  • Sundays - 9:00am to 9:00pm
  • Statutory Holidays - 9:00am to 9:00pm

Power tools other than on construction sites, and model vehicles, are permitted from 8:00am to 10:00pm.

Dog Barking

Garbage Collection Garbage Collection is permitted during the following hours:

  • Monday to Saturday - 6:00am to 10:00pm
  • Sundays - 9:00am to 10:00pm
  • Statutory Holidays - 9:00am to 10:00pm

Good Neighbour Bylaw 
The Good Neighbour Bylaw is enforced by the Bylaw Division during weekdays, and the Police Department during evenings.

Music
Amplified music or loudspeakers from a property shall not unduly disturb the neighbourhood. If the volume is excessive at night or on the weekends, the Police Department should be notified. If the volume occurs during weekdays, the Bylaw Division should be contacted.

Motor Vehicle Noise
Motor Vehicle Noise is enforced by the Abbotsford Police Department.  Regulations of motor vehicle noise include amplified music, squealing tires, air brakes, or excessive use of a vehicle alarm.
